The Moravian Morning Star hangs in the
Hurd Academic Complex at Moravian College in Bethlehem, PA.

Each of its 26 points is the tip of a square or
triangular pyramid made of molded  glass.

Sculptor Dan Kaintz, who ordinarily works in granite,
collaborated with Taylor Backes to produce the pyramids
that are comprised in the piece.

Weighing 800 pounds,
the Moravian Star  measures
9 feet from top to bottom
and has a diameter of 5 feet.
